The winds whip through the small town of Belhaim. You, and your companions prepare to investigate the appearance of a tribe of Kolbolds. Thoughts as to what brought you here spring forward...you look at each other as you sit around a table of The Wise Piper Inn...making preparations, sharing a beverage and conversation
with your fellow adventurers.
"Where be the serving wenches? I am dangerously near sobriety here. Next thing you know, I'll have to be figuring out what's going on around me. We wouldn't want that."
ReplyDelete"I agree w/ our bulky friend here... a round of Ale if you please."
ReplyDeleteSamanthi Xorn looks around the table at those that had originated as simple travel companions, but now have found themselves as a psudo-mercinary group. Xorn wonders about this new company. As one of the barmaids brings over a round of warm ale, he pulls from his pack the notes he had taken when the group was first hired on to escort a simple caravan.
He begins reading through his notes internally...
- Several people seem interesting in this caravan driven by Silas Grib.
- Gnome w/ Wolf: Kulman Broadtoe - seems somber. Tough to get a read.
- Ulfen - Thorbjorn Jotnarsson - "Mysterious"... hasn't really introduced himself yet
- Young human male: Mal-donick(?) - wears cloack w/ insignia - handsome lad from Galt - apparently a diserter...
- Scruffy human male: Chad - carries a bow - very "woodsy" - don't sit next to him - NEEDS BATH
- Dark elf: Tala - RUDE - 2 nice blades -
- Tien human male: Wong (?) - carries staff and straw hat - goes by "cookie" or "Hot-sing"... groups chef...
He looks up from his notes and mumbles under his breath... "What an odd group. Never did I think when I set out from Kerse that I would meet such 'interesting' people"
Placing the note book back into his pack, his hand brushes the exquisitely crafted candle. "Odd though this journey has begun, at least I've come across this excellent candle. Perhaps we can work out an arrangement to sell these back in Kerse... for a handsome markup."
Wong looks about the table. So many interesting characters! "So!" Wong rubs his hands together excitedly, "Kobolds, eh? It would appear based on what we were told that the next place to look for these creatures that toppled the tower, and perhaps themissing girl as well, is the quarry outside town. East, was it? It seems the little dragonbloods lair there, in the caves. What was the tribe's name? Bloodvow?
ReplyDeleteSeeing as we have no other leads on the book some of us came here to seek out, it seems as good a path as any. What was the reward amount the Head Woman of the town mentioned? Does it sounds worthwhile to the rest of you?
Also, does anyone desire to do some shopping before we leave town? I could pick up a few odds and ends."
This group is so high-stress. All this investigating and note taking and hurrying all over the place... I need a nap.
ReplyDelete[Takes nap]
Altho, I am always down for takin a nature walk and smacking down some trouble-makers ya know?
Hey Wong. I'll, like, definitely, go shopping with you bro. Gotta scope out the local wares and such. Think we can find a magic man shopp-e around here? We're low on band aids at the moment. [I can use scrolls of CLW; probably our cheapest option right now]
Yo! Anyone loan a brother some spare change? Got my eye on a sweet bow, but I'm like, a little short on fund-age. [have 475 need 600] Trust me, it will blow your MIND man.
On-the-other-hand perhaps we should throw down for a wand to keep us from gettin banged up too bad.
Group decision! Wooooooooo
Having bested the foul creatures of the Bloodvow tribe, our "band" of adventurers makes their way back to the Wise Piper. Once again w/ ale in hand, Samanthi pulls forth his notebook to jot down some information:
ReplyDelete'Awoke to the sound of explosion... a quick canvas of the area clearly demonstrates that the "Witch Tower" has fallen. Due to some concern about the local arcanist, the group from the caravan all make their way to the wizard's keep. Upon arrival, the local establishment make it clear that if this particular wizard doesn't want to be found, no knocking on his door will help. While standing around, the "Baroness" (apparently some local authority figure... probably some "noble") approached us. She introduced herself as Baroness Organa Devie or Devic (i can't recall). She asked us to investigate the fallen "Witch Tower".
The group/gaggle/horde decide that this might be the only lead to some book that they keep jabbering about. Also talk of a druid reoccurs. *Note to self... ask them individually at some point their interaction w/ this druid* We made our way through the rubble... eventually encountering a number of little obsticles. There was an odd talking face... had to say "Good Baron Sarvo Wills It". Eventually we cornered a few little kobolds. They admitted that their tribe, "Bloodvow" was working w/ the Wizard to bring down the tower. For what reason, we don't know. We actually let one or two go back to their home through some tunnels. There was mention of the hideout of these tribe to be in an abandoned quarry.
Assuming this the trail to follow, this random gang heads to the quarry. There we fought through the hideout of the kobolds. We encountered a captive Kobold who offered to help. Surprisingly this was trusted, and he was released along w/ his mount. Eventually we found the King of the Bloodvow, who was quickly dispatched. We looted his horde, including some slaves... apparently kidnapped from town. The "King" mentioned something about Ateperax... Unclear if that is some diety or lord or master of these Kobolds. We should report this to the Baroness so we get paid...'
